| History of the Love Parade |

The first Love Parade had began with the changes in Europe in 1989. It was started only 4 months before demolition of the Berlin Wall. The initiator was "Dr.Motte" Matthias Roeingh . It was political manifestation for peace and rack up about 150 peoples. Before 1996 the parade was held on the " Ku'damm", but it was very overcrowded and parade was moved to the "Strasse des 17. Juni" which provided plenty of space. The center of whole event is Victory Column in the middle of the park, which is a symbol of the parade especially golden angel atop the column. First parade with the over 1 million of people had place in 1997. In 2004 and 2005 the parade was canceled because organizer had no money for it. The main music played on the Love Parade is Electronic dance music as Techno, Trance and Dance. Peoples from all over the world has came to the Parade to manifest for peace, love and tolerance to all other people. This event is associated with homosexual environments, but it is a manifest for tolerance in broader meaning.
